Lorraine McLelland, Private Dietitian

Private Dietitian Lorraine McLelland

My Background – Becoming a Private Dietitian

I have extensive experience helping people with gastro and related nutrition issues linked to disease and gut conditions. I’m passionate about nutrition and health, with a holistic approach to being well and well-being.

I am approachable, a good listener, empathic and professional.

Following my BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, my dietetic practice began in Hong Kong working in a wellness centre and helping people with nutritional improvements, weight management, diabetes and IBS.

Since returning to the UK I have specialised in respiratory and COPD. I then gained experience in oncology and helping people with cancer improve their nutritional status, energy levels and improve how they feel during treatment.

I then moved into specialist gastroenterology dietetics helping patients with all diseases and conditions related to the gastrointestinal tract.

Once I started working as a private dietitian, I founded Pulse Nutrition as a hub for my private practice.

What does a dietitian do?

Dietitians interpret the science of nutrition to improve health and treat diseases and conditions through practical person-centred holistic advice, support, and education.

Success Stories

“Lorraine asked me to complete a three-day food diary along with details of my sleep and exercise. She gave me some great feedback and guidance on the information I provided.  One of the changes she recommended was to add more fibre to my diet.

I had no idea what a positive impact this would have on my bowel movements, I wish I’d known this sooner. I now sleep better and have much more energy! I’m so happy I found Lorraine as she made this all so easy for me to understand and follow and I’m feeling so much better in myself.”
